Exhibition design for Belgium
“The carousels in the Belgian pavilion are ready to spin! On Saturday 5 May the Belgian pavilion opened its doors for the first time to a test audience. The grand rehearsal went according to plan: the first pralines have been distributed, the restaurant is up and running and all the audiovisual equipment is working.”
In the pavilion, three large merry-go-rounds give an impression of Belgium. This creates a fairy-tale atmosphere, which turns out to be particularly appealing to children. Naturally, diamonds and chocolate are well represented, and the main carousel is a synthesis of Belgium: fashion, folklore, sports, economy, European institutions, etc.
In accordance with the theme The Living Ocean and Coast, a North Sea panorama was created, with nine ‘viewers’ that offer visitors impressions of many diverse facets of our ‘eleventh province’. There is coastal tourism and the large ports of the country, the fishing industry and the energy sector, etc. Special attention is also paid to the dredging projects of the greatest specialists in the world in that area – the Jan de Nul Group and DEME Group.
